What is Periimplantitis?

Whenever conventional 2-stage implants are inserted into the bone of the upper or lower jaw, the clock starts ticking for the development of periimplantitis. The longer the implants are in the mouth, the higher the chances are for this type of bone loss, which will ultimately affect the entire implant and lead to its removal. At this point at the latest, the treatment with conventional implants has failed.
